This Supplier Code of Conduct (the “Code”) articulates the core values and ethical standards that Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd upholds in all its business operations. This Code serves as a guiding document for all our suppliers, partners, and their extended supply chains, ensuring alignment with our principles.

Our operations, spanning sea, air, warehousing, and land freight, necessitate a robust network of suppliers. This Code ensures that every entity contributing to our services shares our dedication to legal compliance, ethical conduct, human rights, and environmental protection. This Code applies to all entities that provide goods or services to Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd, including but not limited to carriers, agents, transporters, subcontractors and vendors (collectively, “Suppliers”). It extends to all their operations, facilities, and supply chains involved in providing services or products to Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd.

Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd is committed to communicating this Code to all existing and prospective Suppliers. Acceptance of this Code is a prerequisite for establishing and maintaining a business relationship with Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd.

In instances where a Supplier identifies a potential non-compliance with this Code, they are expected to cooperate fully with Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd in reviewing, verifying, and implementing corrective actions. Our objective is to foster continuous improvement and collaborative problem-solving.

4. Upholding Ethical and Responsible Practices

We expect our suppliers to not only adhere to all applicable laws and regulations but also to embrace the highest standards of integrity and transparency in their dealings. This section outlines the fundamental principles that guide our partnerships.

4.1 Legal Compliance and Business Integrity
All suppliers engaging with Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd are required to conduct their business in strict compliance with all national and international laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to their operations and the logistics sector. This includes, but is not limited to, laws pertaining to business conduct, trade, competition, and data protection. Where local laws and this Code differ, the higher standard shall always apply.

Suppliers are required to comply with the following standards:

A. Anti-Bribery and Corruption
Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of bribery, corruption, extortion, and embezzlement. Suppliers must implement robust internal controls and procedures to prevent such activities within their organizations and supply chains. This includes refraining from offering or accepting any undue financial or other advantages to improperly influence business decisions or gain unfair advantage.

B. Gifts, Hospitality, and Entertainment
While fostering strong business relationships is valued, any provision or acceptance of gifts, hospitality, or entertainment must be reasonable, infrequent, and never create an obligation or perception of undue influence. These gestures should be transparent and fully compliant with all applicable laws and company policies, both of the supplier and Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd. Any act that could be perceived as a bribe or corrupt activity is strictly prohibited.

C. Confidentiality and Data Protection

Suppliers must maintain accurate and transparent financial records that reflect all business transactions with
Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd. All commercial dealings must be legitimate and free from any involvement in money laundering, terrorist financing, or other financial crimes. Suppliers are prohibited from using any confidential information obtained through their relationship with Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd for insider trading or any other illicit financial activities.

F. Conflicts of Interest
Suppliers must proactively identify and disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that may arise in their dealings with Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd. This includes situations where a supplier’s employees or affiliates have personal interests that could improperly influence business decisions or where there is an ownership interest by a Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd employee or official in the supplier’s business. their own organizations.

A. Fair Labor Practices and Non-Discrimination

Suppliers must ensure fair and ethical treatment of all their employees, without discrimination based on race, color, gender, age, religion, political opinion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law. This includes equitable opportunities in hiring, training, promotion, and compensation. Harassment, abuse, and any form of unlawful discrimination are strictly prohibited. We expect suppliers to foster an inclusive and respectful workplace culture.

4.3 Environmental principles

Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd is deeply committed to minimizing its environmental footprint and promoting sustainable practices throughout its operations and supply chain. Our recent ISO 14001 certification underscores this commitment to environmental management. We expect our suppliers to actively contribute to this endeavor by identifying, understanding, and mitigating their environmental impacts, aligning with internationally recognized environmental standards and best practices relevant to the logistics industry.

A. Environmental Management Systems and Compliance

Suppliers are expected to implement and maintain effective environmental management systems (EMS) appropriate to their size and the nature of their operations. This includes, but is not limited to, adherence to all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and permits.

B. Climate Action and Emissions Reduction

Recognizing the significant role of the logistics sector in global emissions, Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd is committed to climate action. We expect our suppliers to actively manage, monitor, and reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

C. Waste Management and Circularity

Suppliers are expected to adopt a hierarchical approach to waste management: reduce, reuse, recycle, and recover, with disposal as a last resort. This includes minimizing waste generation across all operations, promoting the reuse of materials, and maximizing recycling efforts. We encourage suppliers to explore circular economy principles, such as designing out waste and pollution, keeping products and materials in use, and regenerating natural systems. Proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste, in compliance with all regulations, are mandatory.

D. Water Stewardship

Water is a critical resource, and its responsible management is vital. Suppliers are expected to assess their water usage, particularly in water-stressed regions, and implement strategies to reduce water consumption, prevent pollution, and promote water recycling and reuse. This includes proper wastewater treatment and discharge, ensuring compliance with local regulations and minimizing impact on local water bodies.

E. Biodiversity and Ecosystem Protection

Power Star Freight Sdn Bhd acknowledges the importance of protecting biodiversity and natural ecosystems. While our direct impact may vary, we expect suppliers to consider their potential impacts on biodiversity, particularly in sensitive areas.
